 A GREAT STORY NEEDS TOLD

The name Glen Echo has a history in the family. Our great-grandfather, Henry William Schoenekase, owned and operated the Glen Echo Dairy outside of Quincy, Illinois, beginning in 1924. Henry’s father Hermann had been born in the Kingdom of Hanover, Germany, and had come to America in 1870 by himself at the age of 17. Ironically, the German name of Schönekäß translates into “beautiful cheese.”

1932 Huxter used for Dairy Milk Man.

 THE OWNERS

From Jayhawks to Texans, Debbie and Steve Schoenekase moved to the Dallas-area in 1992. Debbie worked in corporate communications then moved to teaching where she worked in Wylie and Garland. Steve was a civil engineer working on the roads and bridges around the metroplex. Their love of craft beer and taprooms has been a staple in their lives that they have enjoyed with their children, Ben and Katie. From our family to yours, we hope that you enjoy the passion we bring to our beer!
